Moncton Christmas Bird Count

Nature Moncton has been leading the Christmas Bird Count for the Moncton area since 1960!
Citizen Science

The Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is a yearly count of all birds in the Western Hemisphere and it has been taking place since 1900! This is the longest-running Citizen Science project in North America. Each year, members and friends of Nature Moncton crisscross Greater Moncton to count wild bird species in our area.

Birdfeeder count

Volunteers are also needed to count birds at the feeders in their yard. This year’s compiler is Susan Atkinson. She can be reached at susandatkinson@hotmail.com.

The 2025 count day will be Saturday December 20, 2025. Mitch Doucet will be this year’s compiler and he can be reached at MitchDoucet@Gmail.com.
